Class Schedule

The Art of Dance Studio strives to blend the enjoyment of dance with pure, artistic technique. Expression through movement is encouraged at all levels - from those wishing to dance for recreation to those wishing to start a career in dance. The resulting gains of poise, creativity, confidence, musicality and self-discipline will remain with students for a lifetime.

Classes are available in ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, hip-hop, lyrical, pre-dance and "Twinkle Toes" (2 year-olds). The season runs from September to June with a minimum of thirty-seven lessons. Students are encouraged to participate in examinations, which establish the levels of their accomplishment and create goals for which to strive. Ballet exams require a minimum of two classes per week; tap, jazz and acrobatic exams require one class per week.

As dance is a performing art, The Art of Dance Studio will complete the season with an exciting stage performance. Prior to the recital, students will perform in "community shows", informal performances at retirement homes and/or local events. These smaller shows are valuable preparation for the year-end performance, and provide much enjoyment for both the community and the dancers. Costumes range between $50.00 and $110.00, made by parents and/or local seamstresses.
